CNN On Donald Trump’s UN Speech. He Makes Mention Of “Nambia”, A Nonexistent African Country

President Donald Trump’s speech at the UN has made top headlines on CNN as Trump makes mention of a certain “Nambia”, an African country which he lavished praise on its health care system.

Trump said in his speech:

“Nambia’s health system is increasingly self-sufficient… In Guinea and Nigeria, you fought a horrifying Ebola outbreak…”.

The media has been keen to notice that Trump mentioned “Nambia” twice in his speech in a gathering of African leaders.

The gaffe lit up social media with many speculating whether he meant Namibia, Zambia or Gambia.

Trump is however noted for being at logger heads with this media. In August 2014, Trump spoke to CNN’s Jim Acosta in a video saying “Your Fake News”.

The reporter in turn asked Trump “haven’t you spread fake news yourself”?

Both traded barbs when the reporter asked about Trump’s response to the weekend white supremacist rally in Charlottesville.

However, the White House later clarified that Trump was talking about the southwestern African nation of Namibia. Namibia dodged the Ebola outbreak that killed thousands in Africa two years ago and affected several nations, including the United States.

Namibia has a 2.5 million population and is one of the world’s biggest producers of uranium sharing borders with Angola, Zambia, South Africa and Botswana.
