Bambili: DW Journalist Tortured To Near Death By Military Officers

Journalist Ngong Song Jean Marie, DW correspondent in the North West region, and head of the University of Bamenda campus radio has been mercilessly tortured by state security officers.

Jean Marie was tortured yesterday night in Bambili, North West region of Cameroon

“As we write, the concerned is in serious pain with hearing difficulties. We just reached him and he is home safe but in pain” CCMN North West National Coordinator said.

“This act is highly unacceptable and the perpetrators should be called to order with accompanying sanctions” the organisation said

CPJ, Committee to Protect Journalists has also called on Cameroonian authorities to serve justice on the military officers concerned with the act of vandalism
