Peace Crusader, Barrister Nico Halle to Visit University of Buea

Renowned legal mind, Barrister Nico Halle is set to visit the campus of the University of Buea following an invitation from the department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC), the country’s leading program in journalism training.
Being the main speaker at this year’s World Press Freedom Day celebrated every May 3rd, the JMC department invited Barrister Nico who will be talking on this year’s theme; Keeping Power in Check: Media, Justice and the Rule of Law.

Other panelists for the day include Moki Charles Linonge and Nfor Hanson, all ex students of the department. Still as part of this years Press Freedom Day, Douala based artist, Wams (Mr Classic) will be thrilling the students of his alma matter with his hit tracks including Newsman and recently released Jeune Artiste.
The event will take place at the Open Commons of the University and will be attended by hundreds of students from the JMC department, ex students, press men and the general public. 

The organising body, The Association of Student Journalists in The University of Buea, ASJUB say other activities for the day will include a live newscast, a sketch, a debate and spoken word poetry. 

 Notably, ASJUB has been voted several times as the best student association on the campus.
