Separatist Fighters Are Injecting Bamenda With Slow Poison-City Mayor

Bamenda City Mayor tells separatist fighters to stop

The City Mayor of Bamenda council has asked separatist fighters to stop frustrating the collection of waste in the city.

Mayor Achobong Tambeng Paul was speaking Thursday May 5, 2022 after taking part in the Bamenda City Council 2021 administrative accounts memorandum.

According to the Mayor, separatist fighters are injecting the city with many illnesses.

“Garbage has never been friendly to anybody. Whosoever thinks that garbage can be his or her friend is on the wrong path. Those who think that garbage should not be cleaned from the streets of Bamenda are actually injecting the population with slow poison,” Mayor Achobong Paul said

The Mayor has also called on the entire population of the region to join the council to collectively clean up the city.

In April 2022, HYSACAM, waste management company temporary suspended it’s activities in the city of Bamenda, after one of their workers was shot by separatist fighters and their waste collection vehicle raised to ashes.
