Bamenda: Filling Station Set Ablaze By Separatist Fighters

On the night of Tuesday, February 28, 2023, a filling station in Bamenda belonging Total Energies company is said to have been set on fire by suspected armed men.

Reports say the fire that almost brought down the filling station station could have extended to other three neighboring fueling stations thanks to nearby residents who used water and fire extinguishers.

It is alleged that separatist fighters are responsible for the act following a recorded video in which they could be heard celebrating. However no reason has been given by them for setting the station on fire.

Companies promoting government interest including brewery companies and the Cameroon Development Corporation are said to be thier center of attack due to the armed conflict plaguing the Northwest and Southwest Regions since 2016.
