Fon Yakum, North West House Of Chief’s President Clocks 7 Months In Separatist Custody

There are growing fears as to whether the president to the North West House of Chiefs is still alive

Kidnapped on December 7, 2021 by Ambazonian fighters in his own village of Bambalang in Ngoketunjia division, Fon Yakum Kevin who doubles as president of the North West House of Chiefs has not been seen since then

Since his kidnap, nothing has been said or heard about the traditional ruler

Reports have it that Fon Yakum Kevin travelled to his village for a traditional celebration when separatist fighters attacked his palace in surprise, taking him to an unknown location.

The Fon is a graduate from the Cameroon National School of Administration and Magistracy and in many instances he has been very vocal on the Cameroon Anglophone crisis that has caused an estimated 7,000 deaths

In a voice message circulated on social media after his kidnap, Ambazonian fighters threatened the Fon was going to join them to fight against the Biya regime.
