On Friday, a group of separatist fighters are reported to have attacked and disrupted exams at the University of Buea
Reports say the gunmen stormed around the exam venue where students of the faculty of Engineering and Technology were taking their resit exam
“They invaded the building well armed forcing the invigilators and students to flee for their lives” a source said, adding that armed to the teeth government security forces rushed to the scene causing the gummen to flee
Another witness expressed luck that both forces did not clash in a gun battle.
“It should have been deadly for us” she said
On several occasions, separatist fighters have clashed with government military forces causing shootouts and in most situations, the result has been the death of civilians caused by stray bullets
Our sources say although panic crept into the campus for some minutes, no casualty was recorded at the scene
