Douala: Warehouses Reduced To Ashes At Douche municipale





Several stores are reported to have been in flames in the Akwa neighbourhood in Douala, Littoral region of Cameroon early Monday, September 18, 2023.

The fire outbreak is said to have occurred at about 6pm on Sunday, September 17, 2023 which was caused by a short circuit.

Eyewitnesses say the fire began at a vehicle tire warehouse before extending to other nearby stores including warehouses owned by Chinese nationals.

Fire fighters rushed to the scene to put out the flames which caused a huge destruction worth billions in FCFA but no human live was lost.

The governor of the Littoral region, Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua answered present at the scene including some administrative and security officials to evaluate the situation.

However, investigations have been opened to examine the cause of the fire.
