Cameroon: MINEE Promises end To Fuel Crisis, Problem Solved?

For several weeks fuel shortage has been on the rise, a situation that has prompted increased demand and skyrocketed prices at available fuel stations, including Yaounde, Douala, and Bafoussam, among other affected areas.

According to a release from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, fuel supply will return back to normal.

“It is expected that supply supplies will return to normal operation by Tuesday 12 December…..The Minister further reassures consumers that the country will be adequately supplied throughout the end of year festive period,” the Release stated.

Around January 10 earlier this year, fuel shortages persisted in Yaounde and surrounding areas through at least mid-January due to supply disruptions.

The shortage has not only disrupted transportation but has also had an adverse effect on daily activities.
