Cameroon Opens New Embassy in South Korea To Facilitate Biliteral Relations

President Paul Biya of the Republic of Cameroon recently inaugurated a new Embassy in Seoul, the capital of the Republic of South Korea.

The move signed on January 2, 2024, was in line a meeting in Yaounde on July 1, 2022, where the Cameroonian Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, had granted an audience to the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Cameroon, Jonghan Kim.

With a population of about about 11 million inhabitants, Seoul center politics, economics, and culture in Korea.

The decision stems to establish and strengthen bilateral ties with South Korea. With the commencement of its operations in Seoul, the Embassy is anticipated to assume a crucial role in advancing people-to-people ties, encouraging trade and investment, and facilitating collaborative initiatives between Cameroon and South Korea.
