Cameroon: More Than 130 Ex-Ambazonian Fighters Escape DDR Centers

About 130 ex-Ambazonian fighters have escaped from the disarmament, demobilization and re-integration centers set up by government in the English speaking regions of Cameroon.

The centers were set up to accommodate ex-Ambazonian fighters and reintegrate them back into the society.

The government of Cameroon through General Nka Valerie, a commander in the Anglophone regions, has warned these fighters to return back to their centers “”the security and defense forces are here to protect them” the general said

He has threatened to kill any ex-rebels who again take up weapons against the state of Cameroon, but says the ex-fighters will be pardoned if they return to their centers, a source said.

Sources has reveled that the ex fighters escaped after complaints about poor facilities and a shortage of basic needs in their centers.
