As preparations for the new school year continue in Cameroon, the Senior Divisional Officers for Boyo and Bui divisions in the North West region have banned the functioning of community schools
In separate press releases signed by the government officials, they said all community and clandestine schools in the two divisions have been banned.
They have warned that any individual or group who goes against the other will face the law
No reasons have been advanced for the banning of such schools.
However, this comes at a time when only community schools were functioning in many villages in the Anglophone regions, after many government institutions witnessed threats from separatist fighters.
