About fifty Cameroonian state forces have been awarded medals and others promoted to new ranks.
This was during the official military award ceremony that took place at the military headquarters in Bamenda, Friday July 1, 2022
The ceremony was officiated by the Commander of the 5th Joint Military region, Brigadier General Nka Valere who congratulated the officers and encouraged them to work hard in the restive North West region
Amongst the over fifty soldiers, some were promoted to ranks of officers, sub officers and colonels.
Speaking after his promotion to the rank of a colonel, Mpouam Meduans Jules said he is excited to exercise his duties in the North West region, where there is insecurity
“There’s no difference for me working in Bamenda or Yaounde because we were trained to work in war situations like the North West region,” Col. Mpouam Meduans said
The award ceremony comes at a time when separatist fighters have intensify attacks on the state forces in both restive North West and South West regions.
