The Bamenda Disarmament, Dimmobilisation and Reintegration centre, abbreviated DDR has graduated its first batch of school children.
The graduation ceremony took place Friday June 17, 2022 at the centre in Bamenda.
Amongst the ten children are six who left pre-nursery and four who are moving to the primary school level.
During the graduation ceremony, major concerns were raised by parents of the kids and the Head teacher about the need of a primary school section in the centre.
The Head teacher, Yembu Evans hinted in his speech that the need of classrooms and a primary school section are highly recommended in the centre.
On his side, the coordinator, Kum Henry said everything is being put in place to make sure that the primary level goes functional as soon as it is approved by the authorities.
“We started with the pre-nursery and nursery we are going to move forward to the primary. I am working closely with the inspector of basic education for Bamenda II to make sure that the primary level goes functional,” Kum Henry said
The graduation ceremony also witnessed the award of prizes to the school children and the cutting of a cake.
