[Cameroon] Jailed Opposition Leader, Maurice Kamto Turns Down Private Trial, Insists On Open Court Session

Canal 2 Political desk editor, Dominic Meme has reported that jailed Cameroon opposition leader, Maurice Kamto has turned down a private trial in the Chambers of the judge.

The leader of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) party refused a private trial early this morning insisting that his case be listened to, in an open court.

Maurice Kamto opted to return to his prison cell while his request for an open trial is granted.

His defending lawyers have said “it is an abuse of human right to judge Mr Kamto in the chambers of the judge as demanded at the Yaounde appeal Court”.
