Over 50 Cameroonians Successfully Repatriated From Sudan

About 50 Cameroonians have been repatriated to Cameroon after several distress calls to the Cameroon Embassy in Egypt following the ongoing chaos in Sudan.

They arrived the country on May 4, 2023. The ongoing violence in Sudan has left about 5,000 injured, 500 persons de@d according to official sources.

The violence in Sudan is caused by power tussle between the Sudanese army led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group headed by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, widely known as Hemedti.

Many other African countries like South and Somalia had begun evacuating their nationals since last month.

Statistics from the UN shows that the unrest has displaced more than 335,000 people and caused 115,000 others to flee
