Divisional Officer, Derlin Eyono Shoots And Kills Girlfriend

Derlin Eyono Ebanda, 30, who is the Divisional officer for Lokoundje- Kribi, Ocean Division has shot Lydienne, his girlfriend.

Lydienne, reports said, was shot atleast five times

The bullets took her throat and shoulder, she bled to death a few minutes later at the Kribi District hospital where she was rushed to.

It is not clear the circumstances behind the shooting. But some media reports have speculated that the killing was a mistake

CamerounWeb earlier called the Saturday shooting a “mistake” on the path of the officer

“From family and police sources, the young sub-prefect was packing his bag in the bedroom along with his girlfriend, a certain Lydienne, for a trip to Douala.

He made a wrong manipulation of his personal weapon” the medium published minutes after the killing

“But it is not clear how a mistake could triggere 5 consistent shots” this reporter has noted

Derlin Eyono previously served as assistant SDO in Kribi before his appointment as divisional officer

Lydienne’s body has been carried to the mortuary
