Kidnapped on Friday May 15, 2020 with three others, Mr Chombong Joseph, second deputy mayor for Ndop Council has escaped his kidnappers

With reports gathered from a family source, Mr Chombong sneaked out on Monday night, 4 days after his kidnap

The source made unconfirmed claims to us that the deputy paid the sum of 2.4 million FCFA and was still threatened to be killed – just then he decided to try escaping

Speaking to us on phone, the source refused to disclose Mr Chombong’s present location for safety reasons

Mr Chombong, Bertine, Fabrice and Mazu were kidnapped on their way from the mortuary last week, they were going to bury a family member
