Chad Condemns Coup d’État In Gabon



Chad has condemned the coup in Gabon and has called for constitutional order and respect for President Ali Bongo and his family.

Chad’s reaction was made known on the evening of August 30 via its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“While calling for a return to constitutional order, Chad invites an ECCAS meeting and asks the military to ensure the security and physical integrity of President Ali Bongo Ondimba and his family,” a press release signed by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Adam Mahamat read.


The Minister also said the country is closely following the development and unfolding of events in Gabon.
