The government of Cameroon has officially received the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine from China through the Yaounde Nsimalen airport.
The 200 000 doses of the vaccine was handed over to the Prime minister Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute through Chinese ambassador to Cameroon, Wang Yingwu in the night of April 11.
State media has confirmed that Public health Minister, Manaouda Malachie approved the vaccines to be administered in Cameroon.
This is coming after Cameroon turned down the AstraZeneca vaccine about a month ago, doubting its effect as many countries like Austria complained that it causes blood clot.
