The government of Cameroon has ordered for the rehabilitation of Tiko airport in the South West region.
In a press release signed by the Minister of transport, Jean Earnest Massene, he says the Head of State has instructed him to order for the rehabilitation of the said airport
According to the press release, Tiko, Bertoua and Kribi airports are the three airports highlighted for rehabilitation.
The airport was first ordered for rehabilitation for the 2021 AFCON, but it was neglected.
The Tiko airport was built by the British during colonization in the 1960s.
It used to receive four flights from the Cameroon airlines
It is however reported that at least about a thousand houses have to be demolished for proper rehabilitation of the airport.
