The 15th heads of State and government Summit, BRICS summit started yesterday August 22, in South Africa.
This year’s edition is taking place under the theme “The BRICS and Africa.”
The summit has as primary aim to extend the bloc to other countries in order to have more influence in world affairs.
In addition to the member states of this bloc, several African leaders have announced their participation in this summit.
According to South Africa, about 40 countries, including United Arab Emirates, Iran, Argentina, Indonesia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, have shown interest in joining BRICS.
Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute is representing the head of State, Paul Biya at the summit.
