Women of the Bamenda center for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration, DDR have emerged victorious in a handball game.
They defeated the Solidarity Women by 19-14 in a handball game on Friday March 5 as parts of activities to launch the International Women’s Day in the North West region.
The match which took place at the military field, Up Station was in the presence of the Regional Delegate of Women Empowerment, the Coordinator for DDR center Bamenda and other personalities.
According to Kum Henry, Coordination of the Bamenda DDR center, the game was also to let the public know that the Ex-combatants are not different from the normal civilians.
“The message we are sending is that the DDR children are different from what the public think they are,” Kum Henry said
The coordinator added that the Ex-combatants are fully engage in activities like poultry farming, hairdressing and many others at the center.
