Atangana Kouna, Former Minister Of Water And Energy Might Be Free After Reimbursing Money He Embezzled

The Cameroon government through Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Secretary General at the Presidency has decided to end all legal proceedings against Atangana Kouna, former Minister of Water and Energy.

In a second letter, Ngoh Ngoh asked Laurent Esso, Minister of Justice to release Atangana

It is reported that this makes the second time Ngoh is writing to Esoh. The first letter dated December 2 2020, was ignored

Atangana–arrested in Nigeria on March 18, 2018 while trying to run away–was tranfered to Yaounde and jailed in Kodengui prison.

He was accused of embezzlement of public funds and illegal immigration

The new letter signed on July 25, 2022 by President Paul Biya has approved that he be set free, considering that he has reimbursed all funds he embezzled
