​Southern Cameroon Activists Vs President Paul Biya: More On The Case of Genocide At The ICC

President Paul Biya and several senior members of his regime have been dragged to the International Criminal Court, ICC for what leaders of the “Southern Cameroon Independence” have termed “genocide” and crimes against humanity. 

The petition dated October 12 was addressed to the Court’s prosecutor and was titled “Application For Investigation Against Identified Government Officials of La Republic Du Cameroon For Genocide and Crimes against humanity committed on the people of southern Cameroons (Ambazonia).

The applicants Included Prof. Carlson Ayangwe, Ayuk Julius,Mlan Atam, Carol Chi Ngang and Tassang Wilfred.

Recent media reports indicate that some massacred victims have been buried in a man grave in the outskirts of Buea. 

The Post in its Monday October 16 edition reported the burial at night of some of the dead in mile 16 Buea under the supervision of the Divisional Officer for Buea, Kouam Wokam Paul. 

Coupled with such, applicants say they petitioned in accordance with article 15 of the Rome statute of the ICC which mandates the prosecutor to initiate investigations on the basis of information on crimes within the jurisdiction of the court.  

They named President Paul Biya,Rene Emmanuel Sadi, Laurant Esso, Jacque Fames Ndongo,Joseph Beti, Martin Belinga, Jean Bokam, Adolphe Lele L’afrique and Bernard Okalia Bilai.

They maintain that over 50 “peaceful protesters” have been confirmed dead and several others hospitalized
