For the second time, a locally-made bomb has exploded on July 12 in Mokolo, a neighbourhood in Yaounde, Centre region of Cameroon
On the panic attack, onlookers say “the bomb detonated a few metres away from the community fire fighting centre”
Reports say the explosion caused some damages and injured some, but luckily no human life was taken
Today’s explosion makes the second detonation in Mokolo within the past seven days
Security forces arrived the scene trying to calm the crowd gripped by fear
But going back to 2020, on August 14 that year, in a bar not far from the same market, the first ever detonation was recorded in Yaounde
Although no loss of human life was recorded, the explosive injured at least five and sent a message of panic to inhabitants
The government has often blamed the attacks on separatist fighters trying to distabilise the capital city
As with the last attack, no separatist camp has claimed responsibility for the act yet
