Napoli Crowned Serie A champions, Victor Osimhen Sets New Record

After 33 years of Seria A trophy drought, SSC Napoli have been crowned Champions of Italy following thier 1-1 draw against Udinese on Thursday, May 4.

The result pushed them up to 80 points, one more than anyone else in the league can manage despite there still being five rounds of matches to play.

Victor Osimhen’s 52nd-minute equalizer gave them the draw they needed to go beyond the reach of second-place Lazio and clinch the club’s 10th top-tier trophy.

Following his 22 goal of the season last night, the Nigerian international surpassed Samuel Eto’o’s record of 21 goals scored  by an African in a Serie A season.
