CAF President, Ahmad Ahmad Reiterates Warning To Cameroon On Hosting AFCON 2019

The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad has reiterated his warning about Cameroon’s hosting of the 2019 AFCON.

In response to a question about Cameroon’s persistence to hosting the tournament in its new expanded 24-team format,BBC quotes Ahmad saying;

“If the host country is unable to organise it, we will find a country that will organise it,”.

Before CAF approved changes to the format and timing of the Nations Cup, sports minister Ismael Bidoung had denied allegations that preparations were behind schedule.

In August Ahmad said: “Cameroon will have to work to convince CAF on its ability to host the event.”

Fears remain if Cameroon has actually convinced Ahmad and his team with its present level of preparation. We can only wait for further declarations on this.
