Heavy down pour last night in Bamenda, the chief town of the Northwest Region has left the
Santa-Bamenda road stretch of the Bamenda-Babadjou road destroyed causing heavy traffic around the area on March 4, 2023.
According to reports, the damaged parts of the road precisely around Mile 13, Santa, caused several vehicles that left other parts of the country like Douala, Yaounde and Buea to Bamenda to waste Several* hours.
A source said “The rainy season is back in Cameroon with its plenty of wahala. All vehicles that left South West, Douala, Yaounde Bafoussam and many other places entering into Bamenda have been stocked at Santa Miile13, below GBHS Santa.”
Travelers were left stranded with their luggages and movement made difficult.
“This road has been a nightmare to all those who travelled across this area on daily basis. At the moment, the company charged with the construction of the road is very active, trying to remedy the situation,” another source said.
Six years ago, the government launched the reconstruction of the Bamenda-Babadjou stretch of road, but till date it remains a nightmare to the inhabitants given that it is the main entry point into Bamenda. During the rainy season the situation is always a sad one.
