Over four inhabitants of the Cameroon’s Far North region are reportedly killed after a suspected Boko Haram invasion.
The invasion which took place on Sunday night while many were asleep saw many who were taken as hostage.
The four who were killed included two civilians of the local vigilante group and two military men, APA reports.
Although a detachment of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) located about ten kilometers from the area managed to reach the scene, the insurgents fled with the hostages. A military vehicle was destroyed by a blast from an anti-personal landmine planted along the road- JDC confirmed.
This comes days after recent attacks on the borders that witnessed the killing of many persons.
The terrorist group has reportedly killed over 2,000 civilians and soldiers with several abductions recorded.
An estimated number of 20,000 people have been affected by their activities in Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad.
