President Biya’s Laptop Grant Extends To 2017/2018 Registered Students. 80,000 To Be Disbursed By November

Out of the 500,000 presidential laptops promised, the minister of secondary education has revealed that 80,000 of these laptops would be distributed in the month of November.

This was during an extraordinary government council session held in Yaoundé where Jacques Fame Ndongo, the minister of higher education said the first set of 80,000 laptops manufactured by Sichuan Telecom Construction and Engineering Co. Ltd would be distributed while waiting from the rest to be completed.

The September 19 meeting revealed that the students of the 2016/2017 academic year would benefit from the grant alongside those of the 2017/2018 academic year, reports Cameroon Info.

The deal between the ministry of higher education and the Engineering Company is under President Biya’s special Youth Plan to ease education by offering a laptop to every registered student in public and private colleges in Cameroon..
