African football legends Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o have condemned comments made by two French doctors suggesting in a TV program that medical trials for Covid-19 be tested on Africans.
Angered, Drodga posted to kick against the fact that Africans we seen as “guinea pigs”. He said “Africa isn’t a testing lab”.
Eto’o likened these doctors to be killers. Dr Jean-Paul Mira and Dr Camille Locht made the suggestion on a program on French TV channel LCI
The footages have received backlash from Africans who said the suggestions were racist.
In it, Dr Mira, practitioner from Cochin hospital in Paris, proposed that the medical trial for a Covid-19 cure vaccine be done in Africa as it had been done in studies relating to Aids
Africans have started an online campaign to denounce the use of Africans as a test bed for the world.
They say the treatment should be tried on countries like China, USA, Italy and Spain with thousands of deaths and positive Covid-19 cases.
