MINAT Boss Warns Against LGBTQ Conference In Cameroon

The Minister of Territorial Administration (MINAT), Paul Atanga Nji has stated that anyone wishing to organise a conference on gay rights in Cameroon is warned.

This comes after information made public that the French Ambassador for LGBTQ, Jean-Marc Berthon will be holding a conference in Cameroon from June 27, 2023 to talk about LGBTQ rights in the country.

It should be noted that the Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, had earlier alerted MINAT boss about the French diplomat’s mission to Cameroon.

Minister Paul Atanga Nji has called on the Governor of the Centre region, Paul Naseri Bea, to be keen and ensure that such a conference is prohibited in his area of command.

However the MINAT boss said the Ambassador can visit Cameroon for other reasons order than the said conference for homosexuals.

By law, the Cameroon constitution forbids such habits in the country.
