Cameroon: Teacher Stabbed To Death By BIR Soldier

Ayang Koftouing Etienne, a French teacher is said to be have been stabbed to death by a soldier of the Rapid Intervention Battalion Unit (BIR).

According to a statement from the Principal of GBHS Kaélé, the calamity occured while Ayang Koftouing was heading to Maroua where he had to collect his monthly salary.

“He was stabbed during a fight with a BIR soldier and he died on the spot,” the Principal of GBHS Kaélé added.

The tussle between the two men took place in the presence of four BIR soldiers in Moussourtouk, in the Far North Region of Cameroon where Ayang had halted to relax.

An eyewitness revealed that “During this fight between the teacher and these men in uniform Etienne got weakened and ended up succumbing to death.”

Ayang died on the spot, the BIR soldier responsible for the gruesome act fled and is nowhere to be found while one of the soldier was arrested.
