Buea: Population Burn Alleged Thief To Death

A man suspected of stealing has been burnt to death in Bakweri Town, a neighborhood in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon.

Information gathered says four persons attacked a beer depot in Bakweri Town aiming to make away with money.

Unfortunately for them, an alert was raised and some inhabitants of the neighbourhood attending a traditional ceremony called “pala pala” were quick to react.

Two of the robbers fled for thier lives while the other two were caught by the population who immediately set one on fire while the other was rescued by the police.

“One was able to cheat death thanks to the intervention of the police, but his friend was not so lucky,” a source recounted.

It is believed that several young boys in the neighbourhood have fled for fear of being involved in a possible police raid.
