Over 20 persons have been killed in an accident while travelling to church for a Christmas mass in the Philippines.
The group involved mostly members of an extended family in a passenger bus which collided with a van carrying the pilgrims.
20 people were confirmed dead and more than two dozen injured, police said to The Hindu.
Police Chief Superintendent, Romulo Sapitula said all those killed in the pre-dawn collision were in the smaller van locally known as jeepneys.
Another 10 van passengers, along with the driver and 17 other occupants of the bus were injured.
The van’s engine was ripped off due to the impact of the crash.
Inhabitants are yet to recover from the shock while the injured have been rushed to the hospital.
