Naturcold Syrup Leaves Six-Year-Old Dead In Douala

A six-year-old child has died after consuming Naturcold, a dangerous syrup.

The drug that had been prohibited by the Ministry of Public Health was prescribed to the parents of the boy by medical practitioners at the Bassa Health Center Douala on May 24, 2023.

Sadly, the health of the child grew worst and he was rushed to the Douala general hospital battling between life and death.

Information gathered says the child passed away on Sunday, June 4 while the medic who recommended the banned Naturcold syrup is currently in custody at the 4th District Police Station.

Earlier this year, Naturcold syrup killed six children in the North West region and led to the death of others in the South West region as well as other regions.

However, many believe that medical practitioners should be life savers rather than being unprofessional by prescribing dangerous drugs that are detrimental to the health.
