Murdered Bamenda-Based Journalist To Be Buried Today

Bamenda-based journalist, Anye Nde Nsoh who was shot on Sunday, May 07, 2023, by separatist fighters will be buried this Saturday May 13, 2023.

His corpse has been removed the Bamenda Regional Hospital this morning and taken to his family compound in Bagmande, Mankon in Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon.

The regional bureau chief of the Advocate newspaper for the North West was killed around the Don Simon snack bar in Che Street Ntarinkon, Bamenda.

However, in a viral video, Ambazonian activist Capo Daniel claimed that the attack was a case of “mistaken identity” as separatist fighters were targeting a top military commander.

A day after, the Ambazonia Interim Government said the journalist’s death was due to a fierce gun battle between Government forces and Separatists fighters.

In a press release on Thursday, May 11, Government laid the blame on separatist fighters and said investigations are ongoing to punish the perpetrators.

Journalist across the nation have called for legal actions and justice for thier Collegue and an end to the ongoing Anglophone crisis since 2016.

Despite the distress calls, many journalists in Cameroon still believe they are not protected enough and fear who might be next after Samuel Wazizi, Martinez Zogo and now Anye Nde Nsoh.a
