UB, Matriculates Over 10,000 Newly Admitted Students

The University of Buea, Cameroon’s esteemed Anglophone institution, proudly welcomed over 10,000 newly admitted students in a ceremonious matriculation event held on its Molyko Campus in Buea for the 2023/2024 academic year.

The 31st batch of freshmen nicknamed the badge of “Social Transformation” took the oath of matriculation at the Herbert Nganjo Endeley Amphitheatre.

Following an address at the event, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Horace Ngomo Manga announced that a total of 8,405 undergraduates have been admitted while some 1,885 postgraduates will be graduating come December.

“You are living in an era plagued by economic and social hardship, which might push some young men and women to indulge in scamming and other illicit financial means using social media,” Prof Ngomo said.

The event is organised every year to officially welcome new students into the university.
