A court in Buea, South West region of Cameroon has incarcerated the chief of Wonjia village, Lysoka.
Information gathered says HRM Njie Mandenge a.k.a. ‘Lisengi’ was found guilty of fraud carried out between 2004 and 2020.
The pioneer Chief of New Wonjia village in absentia was therefore handed a one-year imprisonment term, with a fine of
500,000 FCFA.
He allegedly evacuated his palace about two years ago after the Fako Court charged him for land seizure and corruption amongst others.
It is believed that he has been rotating between Yaounde and Mbalmayo in the Centre Region.
HRM Njie Mandenge was enthroned as the Chief of New Wonjia village in 2009, taking over from Chief Zacheus Woloa Mokpwa.
