Douala: Body Discovered In Decomposing State

The body of man has been discovered in a decomposing state in his bedroom in Makepe Maturité in the Douala V sub-division on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

The corpse was then disposed of by sanitation personnel of the Douala V council on Monday March 6, 2023, – four days after the discovery.

“It was on Thursday morning that the corpse was discovered at about 7am. It was the man’s neighbour who discovered the corpse when he came to collect his light bill. After knocking several times and no one answered, he forced open the door only to find the man lying lifeless. He then alerted us,” Monique , the landlady’s daughter explained.

Reports say the man complained of being ill at a church where he worked as the security guard on that Thursday.

Monique added. that “On Thursday morning while on duty, he reported to the pastor he was not feeling well and he was asked to return home and rest. That’s how he came back and entered his room and never came out again.”

It is believed that despite contacting his family members about his demise, none of them answered present.

“When I called his elder brother he told me he was heading to Batouri and that he had no time. I tried reaching them again but they had switched off their telephones.”

“Forces of law and order were here , they made their investigations and concluded that the man died a natural death. Before departing, they told me to call the Douala V council. I did and they asked me to pay the sum of 100, 000 FCFA before they could come and carry away the corpse.”

It was four days after his death that personnels of the Douala V council came to carry his remains away. Presently no family member has shown up.
